１．もっと買わせる戦略

　共有から、一部屋にひとつ、一人にひとつ、さらには一人に複数へ（註５）。例：男性用・女性用別の整髪剤、朝にもシャンプー。

２．捨てさせる戦略

　使い捨て化して、使うたびに買わせる。例：紙製の食器、使い捨て容器、使い捨て傘、使い捨てカメラ、使い捨てコンタクトレンズ、使い捨てカートリッジ……。

３．計画的廃物（陳腐）化の戦略　

　ａ）物理的陳腐化　丈夫・頑丈には作らない。

　ｂ）機能的陳腐化　今持っているものは機能的に劣っていると感じさせる（実際には、新製品に余計な機能が増えているだけにすぎなくても）。

　ｃ）心理的陳腐化　最も重要。今持っているものが流行遅れだと感じさせる。例：年に何度も発表される携帯電話のニューモデル。

　価値の判断を鈍らせる。例：「３個で○○円」、無料サービス品の添付、通話料金の割引制度。

５．月賦販売による戦略

　クレジットと分割払いで、カネがなくても、今買えるように。

６．快楽主義を植えつける戦略

　ａ）浪費の正当化──「消費は美徳」という価値観の植えつけ。

　ｂ）浪費の口実を与える──本日限り、期間限定価格、記念日などの活用。例：「イースターは新しい靴で」「バレンタインデーには男性からもチョコを」。

　ｃ）便利さの提供──すぐに作れる、すぐに使える、すぐに届ける（気安く買わせる）。例：ファストフード、ネット販売。

７．人口増加を利用する戦略

　大勢の人は単に大きな市場と見なされる（若者市場には“将来の顧客”も含まれているので特に大事）。例：団塊ジュニアへのマーケティング、中国、インドへの進出など。

では、これらの戦略によってムダになっているものは何か？　もちろん資源もエネルギーもムダになっているが、一番取り返しがつかないのは、これら全てに費やされている「我々の労働」なんじゃないかと思う。
買わされている側はもちろん、買わせている側も反乱を起こすべきだ。「こんなことくだらないこと、やってられるか！」と。
